November is a month for feasting and preparing for the winter holidays. Here’s my guide to spending a wonderful November in Nashville, from volunteering to Thanksgiving meal prep and must-see concerts.
🦃 Prep for Thanksgiving
Don’t feel like cooking for Thanksgiving? Here are some local restaurants where you can preorder your meal. Just order early before they sell out!

- Monell’s: Preorder a classic Thanksgiving meal including slow-roasted turkey, cornbread dressing, and green bean casserole starting at $75.
- Loveless Cafe: Get their world-famous biscuits along with all the Thanksgiving basics for $139.99.
- Shotgun Willie’s Tex BBQ: Mix and match the perfect feast at Shotgun Willie’s.
- Blue Aster: Their elevated Take & Bake menu features charred pumpkin soup and a caramelized onion tart, and includes reheating instructions.
- Char: With cornbread muffins and crab, shrimp and andouille gumbo, and chipotle-smashed sweet potatoes, Char’s Thanksgiving menu is as yummy as it is unique.

🗳️ Get Ready To Vote
Representative Mark Green retired from Congress in July, leaving the Tennessee 7th Congressional District seat empty. Democrat Aftyn Behn and Republican Matt Van Epps won in the primaries. Register to vote by Nov. 3 to cast your ballot in the Dec. 2 general election. Early voting runs Nov. 12-26. Check to see if you’re in this district, as Nashville is divided into three districts.
