Shopping at thrift stores is both friendly for the budget and for the environment. Plus, it’s a great way to find unique outfits and home decor, and even support local charities. Here are our favorite thrift stores in Nashville.
Let’s take a ride down Nolensville. First stop, Music City Thrift. They have a little of everything, with great prices and frequent discount days. FYI, they don’t let you take bags (like purses or diaper bags) inside.
Your second stop is the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at the intersection of Nolensville and Harding. Proceeds help the nonprofit build homes for locals who need them. Come here for furniture and home decor. There are several other ReStores located in Middle Tennessee.
The last stop on your Nolensville thrifting adventure is ThriftSmart, the largest thrift store in Nashville, which has a new location in Rivergate, too! The Rivergate location opens on March 14. This nonprofit is a great place for clothes, jewelry, and furniture, and they even sell diapers! (Not used 😆) Proceeds benefit local charities, including Mercy Community Healthcare and New Hope Academy.
This cute little thrift store in The Nations sells all kinds of stuff — knickknacks, books, clothes, jewelry, china — and for great prices.
Charlotte Avenue has several thrift stores, but Southern Thrift is the largest and most popular. It’s a great place for clothes, toys, and weird odds and ends.
This Madison nonprofit thrift store, “where compassion meets fashion,” empowers patients undergoing cancer treatments and advocates for cancer awareness. The shop focuses on clothes for adults and kids. It’s a great way to shop for a cause, and the clothes are super cute!
Ladies of Charity Nashville opens their thrift store twice a year, and the next sale runs from March 28-May 4! This 110-year-old nonprofit uses the money earned from its thrift store sales to fund its emergency assistance office, which provides food, clothing, rental, and utility bill assistance to those who need it.
We all know about Goodwill, but which ones are the best? The Rivergate Goodwill is giant, with great art and dresses. The Brentwood and Franklin Goodwills are for thrifters who want name-brand clothes.
