In December, the U.S. Supreme Court heard a challenge to SB1, a 2023 bill passed by Tennessee’s Republican-led state legislature that bans the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for transgender youth. While SCOTUS isn’t expected to rule on the case until later this year, parents here in Nashville are already dealing with the impacts of that law and other pieces of anti-trans legislation that have passed in our state. Today, host Marie Cecile Anderson speaks with two local moms, both of whom are raising trans/non-binary/gender-queer kids: Lindsey Patrick-Wright, whose family has chosen to stay in the Nashville area; and Taylor,* who recently relocated due to fears for her child’s safety.
