‘Tis the season to curl up by a fire pit with a delicious fall beverage! From hot toddies to cold chai, here are our favorite drinks in Nashville for fall 2024.

🫖 Hot Toddy at Urban Cowboy

Our podcast host Marie Cecile Anderson is obsessed with this traditional favorite from Urban Cowboy. With whiskey, apple brandy, lemon, and fresh whipped cream, it’s not your grandma’s sleepy-time juice anymore.

A black mug topped with whipped cream, cinnamon, and an orange peel sits on the wooden bar. The bar light is dim, with two orange tea lights illuminating the background of the photo.

🌲 Phony Negroni! at Noko

Since it was recently featured on the New York Times’ list of our best restaurants, you’re not getting a table at Noko any time soon … but there’s probably room at the bar. Sidle up for our favorite zero-proof fall mocktail, the Phony Negroni!, featuring Tasmanian pepper berry and juniper.

🍂 Autumn Tonic at Elegy Coffee

How much seasonal goodness can one joint pack into a glass? Elegy Coffee accepts your challenge. Head to any one of its three locations for the Autumn Tonic, a cold combination of [deep breath] espresso, cranberry, rosemary, cardamom, tonic, and cranberry bitters.

An iced drink is in a clear plastic cup that says "The Horn." The bottom quarter of the drink is brown, while the rest is a light brown milk foam. The top is covered with brown nutmeg. The cup sits on a checkerboard and in the background is a glass dessert case.

Cold and delicious: The Horn’s pumpkin chai pairs perfectly with their incredible baked desserts. (Whitney Pastorek / City Cast Nashville)

🎃 Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam Chai at The Horn

Over on Murfreesboro Pike, authentic Somali cafe The Horn bills itself as having “the only chai that matters in Nashville.” Their seasonal pumpkin spice cold foam chai somehow manages to be decadent and light as a feather at the same time.

A hand is coming from the right side of the photo to pour a light yellow liquid from a dark sake carafe into a glass topped with a lemon. On the coaster next to the glass are two cellophane-wrapped butterscotch candies. The bar is black, and liquor bottles glow in the background.

If Willy Wonka owned an izakaya, this is what he’d serve. Hot sake is mixed with miso butterscotch and bourbon, and poured into delicate cups for sipping. (The glass pictured above was for presentation purposes only.) The perfect sweet end to the divine umami on Two Ten Jack’s Japanese-inspired menu.

🍺 Pumpkin Things at East Nashville Beer Works

I despise pumpkin beer, but can almost tolerate the Pumpkin Thing at East Nashville Beer Works. Sadly, it wasn’t available on tap when I popped in. Hooray then for the new Autumn Old Fashioned, a delightful blend of rye, pumpkin syrup, and smoked cinnamon bitters. Sip it by the fire in their dog- and kid-friendly backyard.

A hand is coming from the right side of the photo and holding a white ceramic cup emblazoned with a skull with butterfly wings filled with hot chocolate. The hand is tattooed, has spooky fingernails, and two large rings. In the dark background, purple smoke wafts through the air.

🍫 Vegan Mexican Hot Chocolate from Besitas Nashville

During the summer, JoAnna Lopez at Besitas Nashville makes the best “kinda goth” aguas frescas in town, and she’s pivoted to hot options for fall: A spiced hibiscus cider, and a vegan Mexican hot chocolate. Follow her on Instagram to track down these yummy bevs at various pop-ups from now through the end of the year.
