Fall break for MNPS and Williamson County students is right around the corner: Oct. 7-11. If you, like me, are working during fall break, I rounded up these camps to keep the kiddos entertained. There’s something for all kinds of interests, from sports to theater to coding and more.
- Grades: Kindergarten-5th grade
- Where: Select MNPS Schools
- Time: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Cost: $25 a day
- About: YMCA’s Fun Company runs before- and after-school care, and extends its care all day during breaks at select schools. Only six schools are listed for fall break. Expect fun activities, sports, and crafts.
- Grades: Kindergarten-6th grade
- Where: Adventure Science Center, Nashville
- Time: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., before care starts at 7:30 a.m., and aftercare ends at 5:30 p.m.
- Cost: $399/week, before and aftercare is $30+ per day.
- About: Kids will see a planetarium show, and participate in a range of space-themed activities and projects, including making rovers and launching rockets.
- Ages: 4-14
- Where: Nashville Children’s Theater
- Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., free before care starts at 7:30 a.m., and free aftercare ends at 5:30 p.m.
- Cost: $350+/week
- About: Nashville Children’s Theater offers five different fall break camps with various themes. All camps end with a performance.
- Ages: 5-12
- Where: Sanders Ferry Park, Hendersonville
- Time: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Cost: $335/week
- About: Kids will explore nature and participate in fall-themed activities and crafts. Aftercare is available.
- Ages: 5-10
- Where: Boost Gymnastics, Bellevue
- Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Cost: $350
- About: Kids will have a spooktacular time with open gym play, Halloween-themed games, pumpkin painting, fall snack crafts, swimming, and more.
- Ages: 6-13
- Where: TOCA Nashville, Franklin
- Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Cost: $500/week
- About: Kids at any level can sharpen their soccer skills.
- Ages: 8+
- Where: Franklin
- Time: Minecraft-themed camp is 9 a.m.-12 p.m., YouTuber Halloween-themed camp is 12:30-3:30 p.m.
- Cost: $249/week per half-day camp
- About: These half-day coding camps can be combined for a full day. Kids can create custom Minecraft tools and design their own YouTube channels.
- Ages: 3-8
- Where: Franklin
- Time: Half-day sessions from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3:30 p.m., or full day from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Cost: $319/full day, $179/half day.
- About: Kids will learn the fundamentals of a variety of sports. Equipment is provided.
- Ages: 3-12
- Where: Franklin
- Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., before care starts at 7:30 a.m., aftercare ends at 6 p.m.
- Cost: $70-$75/day, $5-$15 extra for before and aftercare.
- About: There are indoor and outdoor activities, including gymnastics (of course), ninja training, chalk art, and crafts.
